What can counselling help with?

About Me
Training to become a counsellor has been truly life changing for me, and I’d like to share why. I enjoyed a successful career in HR, Training & Recruitment in the corporate world for many years, however, it was a personal diagnosis of breast cancer at the age of 32, that really sparked my desire to help others.

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain
How I work
As a person-centred therapist, I wholeheartedly believe in the power of genuine human connection and the innate potential for growth within each of us. My approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and a profound respect for your unique experiences. Together, we can create a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported on your voyage towards a greater understanding of self and healing.
Thinking about counselling can be somewhat daunting for some and it might be that you’re feeling apprehensive about reaching out. Before experiencing counselling myself, I often thought that the support of family and friends was enough, but I discovered that sometimes it isn’t. To me, counselling felt like a guilt-free space to be unapologetically honest with myself and feel safe and trusting enough to be able to share my worries, anguish and sometimes painful emotions with a professional. Knowing your voice is heard without judgment and completely confidentially, was enormously freeing for me….this is always my wish for you.

Most clients choose a regular appointment either on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Ad-hoc sessions are also possible, although this is often more suitable once a counselling relationship has been established.
I know how daunting it can be to contact a counsellor for the first time so I offer a free introductory call to chat things through. This will give you an opportunity to tell me a little about what brings you to counselling and for you to ask any questions you may have.
Contact Me
Please find my contact details below or complete the form if you would like me to contact you to arrange a free 15-minute introductory call. This enables us to discuss what brings you to counselling and whether I am the right therapist to help.
Enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
Counselling is not a crisis service. If you feel that you may be at imminent risk of harming yourself or somebody else, you could contact your GP or out of hours service, NHS Direct on 111, The Samaritans on 116 123, or in an emergency call 999 or visit A&E.
